Welcome to the Web Site of ''The Trust for Maryland Vietnam Veterans'' (The Trust). We are an IRS Section 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization which is dedicated to assisting Maryland veterans, their families, widows and orphans through a grant process. Our source of funding is from corporations and individual donations which have been donated through the ''Vietnam Veterans of Maryland''. The Trust Officers and Board of Directors are veterans living in Maryland and most of them are also members of several other National Veterans Organizations. The Trust motto is: ''Veterans Helping Veterans.'' HOW TO APPLY FOR GRANT OR PROJECT SUPPORT Requests for grants or project support may take many forms, from a simple letter of request to a comprehensive grant application package. The complexity of the project you wish to fund will determine, for the most part, how much information you should provide to the Trust for Maryland Vietnam Veterans Board of Directors. All requests must, at a minimum, consist of a cover letter, which includes a proposal summary and the amount requested. The request must be on your organization's official letterhead. The proposal summary should outline what the money you are requesting will be used for, and how this activity advances the charitable purpose of your organization or group. Please be specific when describing your project. You must also specifically answer the question, ''how will this activity help veterans?''. Remember to include the time frame or duration of your project as well. All grant or project support requests in excess of one thousand dollars will require the submission of your organization's latest financial statement detailing your organization's income and expenses. The letter shall be signed by your President, Commander or equivalent, and by your Treasurer. If your grant request is approved by the Trust for Maryland Vietnam Veterans Board of Directors, the Trust will send a letter of agreement outlining the terms and reporting requirements for your grant. Please note that these terms and reporting requirements may vary from grant to grant, at the discretion of the Trust. Two officers of your organization, including the President or equivalent, and returned to the Trust before funds will be released, must sign this letter of agreement. All funds will be issued by check, made payable to your organization (VFW Post XXX, etc.). Grants will not be made payable to an individual unless specifically authorized in the letter of agreement. Grant request forms are available by calling (301) 845-4865 or in writing. Our mailing address is: The Trust for Maryland Vietnam Veterans, Inc., 31 E. Frederick Street, Suite 500, Walkersville, MD 21793-8018. Veterans Helping Veterans. _______________________________ Adolph T. Gardner, President for the Officers and Board of Directors |
